Break out the PeePee TeePees.....
It was a crazy switch for us to make, but one that was mainly self-imposed. And now that we know we have a "he" in there, we are totally on team boy!
So, who wants to name him???

The Story by Brandi Carlile has pretty much been my anniversary anthem this week. I love this song and it's just perfect for us. We thawed our wedding cake topper and started eating it tonight.
Thanks baby for the best year ever! I couldn't have imagined a better way to start our first year of marriage!

This weekend's breakfast was a collaborative effort. I made homemade Amish Friendship Bread, Jerry made the Omelets and Krusty brought the orange. Delectable :-)
I got the call today! One that I totally wasn't expecting but am so excited about!! When we are in New York we will go to the Thursday taping of...........
I totally forgot that I had requested them and when she called today I got so excited. I had to answer a trivia question about the show in order to win the tickets. I was so nervous! BUT I got an easy one, 'what is the color of announcer Alan Kalter's hair?"...Well, he just so happens to be my favorite so I knew RED! And I mentioned that since I was pregnant I was nervous about the trivia because I haven't been able to watch in a while and later she said, you said you were pregnant right, well, we'll put you in a special line with chairs so you can sit down!!
YAY!!!!! I can't wait!!!
I am so looking forward to getting the nursery all in order. This is true for several reasons. The first being that I have been nesting since I was old enough to know roygbiv so nothing new there. Secondly, the room is currently the "office" and was never really finished because we knew it would be changing so it has been driving me crazy. It's sort of the catch all room for things we don't really want or love, but still aren't ready to part with. SO, over the coming weeks the big merge will be happening. MY beloved guest room will now be guest/music/office room and we are going to have to get creative to keep the relaxing feel of the room. I am determined to keep the bed as is, but we'll see.
And of course the nursery! What little girl doesn't dream of having her very own baby and baby things? I am a princess ok? I love dress up. This is where I hope for the sake of our child that it's a girl. My poor cat faced enough trauma being put in doll dresses even though he was a boy. I promise though, if we have a boy, he will get a real dress.
only a couple weeks until the half way point. That is mind blowing! Next week will be great. It's not only our Anniversary on Monday, but we find out the gender on Tuesday and leave for NY on Wednesday! Definitely looking forward to that! For those in or near the city, we'll be available Thursday, Friday or Saturday (28-30th) lunch or dinner if you want to hang out! Let me know!
In other news, it has been Olympics central at our house. For over a week, the nightly routine is Jerry, Krusty and I sitting on the couch lamenting the fact that volleyball is on AGAIN...and enjoying every minute :-)
Sorry for the lack of posting but this week has really been uneventful! I am back to sleeping every chance I get and basically getting through each day with my dignity and sanity intact. Let's see...I suppose there are a couple things I could talk about. First, I got a recipe online for the most amazing (fatty) pizza ever!! Depending on how long you've been reading this blog, you may be familiar with my ongoing love affair with all things buffalo chicken. Well, this pizza was nothing short of romantic. You start with a plain crust and layer bleu cheese dressing (or in our case ranch), cooked chicken marinated in buffalo sauce and melted butter, and mozzarella. 10 minutes in the oven on 425 and you are in heaven. Who knew it was that easy to get there???
All jokes aside, this pizza was phenomenal. With a capital NOM :-).
Secondly, we got our crib bedding this week! It was totally unintentional as we don't even know the gender of the baby yet, but I found an amazing deal at Target and I could NOT pass it up! I had a gift card for $20 and spent about $9 on top of that. I was able to get the crib bedding, wall decals, pillow and toy! Plus, my sister went to her Target in SC and found the crib skirt for $5 !! Not to shabby! I love a good bargain. Overall we saved about $100. Yay! Here it is, Dwell Studio - Zoo pattern....awwwww.
It's very blue, but we already have plans about how to girl it up if need be (pink elephants anyone????) ...we'll know in a week and a half (hopefully) !!! Now that the basics are down, I am ready to clean out the office. That will be the not so fun part, but hey it's all for a good cause! This weekend will be pretty low key. I think I will try to shop a few yard sales in the morning while the weather is still nice. Happy Friday everyone and have a great weekend!
I don't know who this baby is, but I found this picture on another blog and I had to share....what a cutie!
This morning I made a quiche. I have finally managed to cook it all the way through with a yummy melty-cheese layer on top, at the expense of my crust.....next time use aluminum foil....
This is a picture of my dad - circa 1970 something. There are many amazing things to note about this picture. (click it for a closer look)
1) The apparent border collie in the foreground...this was pre-me so I don't know this pup.
2) The obviously awesome facial hair and half-fro.
3) He is playing Atari.
4) The floor! I mean is that carpet? Linoleum? Does it matter?
5) The surprisingly current needlepoint bird pillow. Where can I get one??
6) Last but not least - the casio calculator watch he is sporting. This I remember lasting well into my teen years :-)

OK sorry about the malfunction yesterday....we'll blame that one on hormones. Today, I have a new attitude (oo-oo-ooo-ooo-oooo) and I am going to post some pictures! The first will be a lovely gerber daisy from the bunch that Jerry got me for my birthday. This one lived on my bathroom sink.

You know, I think it will be a miracle if I don't either get fired or walk out on this job by the time this baby comes. I have ZERO patience these days and if you know me and my job situations, you would know that I didn't have much to begin with! Everything that normally irritates me is making me a crazy person! I feel like I am snapping at everyone and they are all avoiding me as a result.
I've never been close with my coworkers at this job (even though I've been here a year and a half) but I sure don't want them to hate me. It stinks because at my last job we were all tight, but the pay was unreliable and there was no upward mobility. Here, the pay is decent, but I got the shaft because just about the day I was going to get a new position, the whole company went on a hiring lock down.
I'm sorry if you have heard me complain about this before and in past situations, I have moved on and moved up. Or so I thought. This one really threw me for a loop and now I am stuck here until January, frustrated and losing it on an almost daily basis. I feel trapped and that feeling tends to make people panic. I don't know if I can stand to be in panic mode for another 6 months.
This week seems to be a bit boring for me. Not a whole lot going on. It's excruciatingly slow at work and I've been feeling very introverted socially. I've spent a lot of time at home in hiding and just trying to catch up on sleep and the like. Yesterday I had the pleasure of a killer toothache and spent this morning at the dentist. One root canal coming up! But that will have to wait until next week.
Everything is going well, this week just seems to be a downer for no particular reason. I am looking forward to the nice weather 'they' are promising for the weekend...and maybe a swim or two..
The great news is that I will be 15 weeks tomorrow! Only 2.5 weeks until we can (hopefully) find out what we are having (At least we already know it's a baby) !
Waiting. I've never been good at waiting.
