Good things!!

Today is a good day! Jerry FINALLY got his deposit back from the house he rented last year (after a 4 month legal struggle), I gave Trinity his mini-fridge back and consequently getting it out of my house. :-) AND I broke through a mini weight goal! Yippee!!

I had been sitting on the same number for about 2 weeks just waiting for the scales to drop and it finally happened! Yay! I needed a little rejuvenation so I am really excited about it. It's the first time I have seen this number in over a year. Woo hoo!!

Not much else is going on. We were gonna go to Vintage tonight but decided to take a little break and catch the podcast. Hope everyone is having a great week!

GOOD mornin...goood MORRRRnin :-)

Ahhh Tuesday. It smells like rain. Hopefully, the rain will wait one more day so I can get the rest of my leaves bagged. As it turns out, my "no plans" plan was quite the motivator this weekend. I hung pictures, made my kitchen curtains, cleaned a bit and went to the grocery store! Then on Sunday, Jerry and I did yard work for several hours. It was a beautiful day! I cleaned out the workroom and raked around the back of the house and found all kinds of treasures. Jerry bought a lopper and was cutting little vines and trees down like crazy along the fence line. It looks SO much better!!! We filled 4 bags with leaves and have an inhuman pile of branches to tie up. There are still several piles of leaves to bag so that is what I would like to tackle tonight.

If this sounds like a lot, just imagine the amount of leaves and twigs 5 giant trees would produce in 3 years, then imagine that the previous owners did nothing but leave them on the ground. And then I came along and bought the house. This is what I am saying.

As tempting as it is to hire someone to do it (and yes I am still tempted), each time we have a yard day, I really do feel great about getting out there and taking care of the land. It's so Little House on the Prairie.....Next thing you know, Krusty will be warning us that Timmy fell down the well.....wait, wrong show....ANYWAY, it 's fun, we had fun, and the yard is lookin good! There is a good chance that mom and dad will take the shed. I REALLY want them to take the shed! They want it, I want it gone. It's that simple. Now it just comes down to logistics. So, we'll see.

This is a busy week for us. We pretty much have something going on every night!! But so far so good. And Amy is coming this weekend! Yay! Life is good :-)

Another Friday already!

This week has gone by super fast. I am especially happy about that because last weekend was a bust. For some reason, I was totally stressed out and unproductive. This week, I have lowered my expectations. I'll just do the best I can. Projects will always be around, but they are meant to be fun and satisfying. Not a nightmare. SO, tonight, Jerry and I are gonna grab a bite and head over to Bickett Gallery for our very own Sharon's Art Show! I am really excited to see her work. She is unbelievably talented and it's been a while since I have seen anything of hers. Yay! The rest of the weekend remains relatively unplanned, so we'll see what happens.

I had one of my neighbors over for a little tour of the house yesterday. Apparently, the prior tenants (who were each renters) were drug addicts, and before them, an ex-con who was in for murder. WHOA. It's a good thing I have new walls, because if the old ones could talk, I don't think I would want to hear what they said! Other than that, the chat with Kari was pleasant and light. She is really sweet and I look forward to getting to know her better. We are about the same age, so it's pretty cool.

Things are going well otherwise. I am completely floored that Sanjayah is still on American Idol, but I'll have to save that for another post. Happy Friday everyone!

Yay....Friday!!

I am SO glad it's Friday! Even though it's raining like crazy, it just feels great. I am really looking forward to the weekend. Tonight we are going to the Music Leader's house for a band party, tomorrow night I am having Mexican with some girlies for Jane's bday and Sunday, Jerry and I are playing all 4 services....whew! It will be busy, but fun-filled, I assure you!

This week has been awesome. We've made dinner almost every night this week...so yummy! Last night we made chicken and pasta with sun-dried tomato alfredo sauce! I added some extra sun-dried tomatoes and fresh basil for a lil kick! We also made a tomato basil salad with balsamic vinaigrette and shredded cheese!! AND I halved one tomato and baked it with more cheese to melt on top. SO good!!! I love cooking!!

The whole veggie thing is working out wonderfully. I haven't had much of a problem eating 9 servings a day, and what is happening is that I fill up on that most days, so when I do have pasta and sauce and cheese and all that, it doesn't hurt me! And I feel SO much better. I have been taking a multivitamin faithfully and I think my body just really appreciates it. It's nice. The one thing I have kinda slacked off with is the water. Some days I drink 3 days worth, and others I hardly have a drop! Time to regulate that.

The new job is going really well! I love it. The people are really nice, my cube is by the window and I am learning alot! It's exciting to be doing something that I can really get into. They've already scheduled me to be at a couple health fairs and events to answer questions and do giveaways. I am really looking forward to that.

My big project for the weekend is making the kitchen curtains. I looked and looked for some to buy and couldn't find anything I liked. Besides the fact that curtains are so expensive anyway, I just couldn't justify settling for something that was $20+ per panel. SO, I spent $4 on fabric that I really like, $10/ea on the curtain rods and I am going to make them! I also got enough to add some detail to a couple shelves next to the fridge to draw the colors into that side of the room (my windows are all on one side). I'll take pics as soon as they are done! yay!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! :-)

Reading Rainbow

In an effort to keep from becoming old and senile at the age of 55, Jerry and I have decided to be intentional about reading. For me at least, it's harder than you might think. I love reading, but it is sometimes so hard to quiet myself down to be still and open a book. Last night, we were making dinner and I kept dropping things and I closed my finger in the drawer, dropped some more stuff, spilled sauce on the burner etc....I had a good day, yet felt totally frazzled. Like I was in a race to get dinner made to then, finish. We didn't have anywhere to be, so I don't know what the rush was.

Once we ate, I felt much better. Maybe my blood sugar was low or something. ** Sidenote, dinner was great! I made chicken in the crockpot with water, soy sauce, garlic, basil, pepper and ginger...We had fresh corn on the cob and then I made black eyed peas and brown rice with a similar sauce as the chicken (found the recipe online) It was great!**

Jerry decided to read, as he has the past couple nights, so instead of puttering around as I call it, I thought I would join him. We read for over 2 hours! It was so completely wonderful. We were just sitting in the livingroom, each reading our own thing, Krusty laying on the floor, the tv was off. The only thing missing was a crackling fire! (and in my case, a fireplace)

I really needed a quiet night, and I didn't even know it. And, I finally knocked 3 more chapters out of a book I have been trying to read for a year! Now I am almost done. Yay! I can't wait to finish the book and get another one. Good job baby, thanks for the motivation :-)

Oh there is so much....

Andrea Loves Jerry

Hey everyone. Lots going on these days! I started my new job last week and I am loving it! Everyone is completely nice and welcoming. And if your first day on the job starts with Dunkin Donuts and free lunch at Biaggi's (Italiano suprem-o) then life is looking good! And tasting great! So, far, my duties have consisted of;

1) showing up. Showing up to work during your first week is important. It means you care. Which I do.

2) Cleaning out my cube. I can't tell you how impressive to my boss and co-workers this one was. You'd think I moved mountains. There was a line just to see it.

3) Filling out online forms and emails. This is actually quite time consuming and will be a large chunk of my actual job.

4) Attending teleconference/web cast training sessions. You would think this is the fun part. think again, I don't have a headset. READ: 5 hours holding a standard receiver to my ear. But, it was very informative.

5) Learn how to operate the FLAVIA machine. Essential.

So far, it's been a great week! Also, I may be joining a new gym, as there are special group rates for my company. Wee!

NOW, the house. I finally awakened from the dark ages and uploaded a few pics. I finally got my fridge! Magnets and all and I love it!! The 2nd pic is of my living room from the kitchen. Jerry got me the chair (even though it's his reading chair) and I just got the curtains up.

The next 2 are of my bathroom. It has been a continuous project. The latest was painting the shelves "formerly known as wood" white. I think they look quite lovely. I also organized the linen closet and made a couple jewelry organizers out of old frames and fabric. Fun!!

This picture is blurry and shouldn't even be in here. But, I had to document the yardwork I did last Monday, so here it is. 6 bags of leaves and 5 bundles of branches from in and around the carport. Yay!!!

Overall, it has been an excellent few weeks. Last year was the best year ever, but I have a feeling this year will give 2006 a run for its money. Much more to come....goodnight!
