OOPS! Did we give you that Toy Already?

One present we had planned to get Oscar for Christmas was a push toy he could use to help him walk around. I like the kind that are push toys and then convert to ride-on toys because I feel like I am getting 2 things and only taking up space for one. Score! So when I got some coupons online for the playskool version, I threw them in my purse for a rainy day.

Well that day was last Saturday because there was a sale and with my coupon, I got the toy we wanted for $12! Yay! I brought it home and while we had planned to wait until Christmas, Oscar has been so interested in pulling up and standing, it seemed silly to just leave it in the box. Also, Jerry was itching to perform his required fatherly duty of putting something together!

Our friends Joe, Jessica and Jude stopped by for a while and while we talked, Jerry and the boys got to work.

I think he likes it!

Exciting Times!

Things are getting really fun over here at Lil-Kid-Things! I have added a Sponsor, Uprinting, hosted a couple giveaways, and most recently been the featured blogger at The B Keeps Us Honest! But today is very exciting because my first post at Triangle Mamas is up!

Triangle Mamas is a local blog for us moms here in NC. I am so excited to be a part of this collaborative and to share stories about our city that I love! It will also (hopefully) help me hone my writing skills and broaden my local community. They are an awesome group of ladies and I hope you will head over and check them out!

Meal Planning Monday: Snacktime!

Today's post isn't so much a meal as it is a snack. A sweet snack. I am the type of person who needs a sweet finisher to a meal. It doesn't have to be a pint of Ben'n'Jerry's (though that would be amazing right now....uncanny cashew yumz), but something to say, ok we are done eating. I love dark chocolate but I don't always have it.

Last week, we were left with an ungodly amount of goodies after our halloween party. We pawned a lot of them off on friends and neighbors, ate some and tossed the rest. However, I did hold on to a few things that would keep and I discovered a tasty treat! I give you:

Animal Sammys!

1 oz Animal Crackers (about 14 crackers)
1 tbsp Chocolate Fudge Icing
Squish em!

Tada! A DELICIOUS dessert! All for 200 calories. Enjoy!
