The Mr.!

Today we went to finalize the tuxedos. We first went to a few garage sales where I got some amazing stuff! I'll post about that later. After that, we (and the dog) went to Cafe' Carolina for breakfast and I got a few things from the Party Shop. Then we went to the tux place!

We ordered a few different styles for him to try on but we didn't like any of them so we got this!

Just kidding! :-) Side-note, Jerry in the tux shop was like a kid in a candy store. He wanted to try everything on and it was so much fun watching him enjoy the whole process. Originally, we were going to have the Groom and groomsmen in different vests and ties, but we decided to have them all match. We are going with an ivory shirt, tie, vest combo with different textures. He looked so handsome!!

I am not going to post the whole getup, but I'll give you a few sneak peeks:

He's gonna look so great! I can't wait til August!

Shoes!!

Anyone who knows me knows I love shoes. LOVE them. I love to just look at them, try them on, buy a pair now and then. I have given away more shoes than many people own in a lifetime. Which can also be a problem. This means, I love em and leave em. I have the standards that will stay with me forever (ahem, reefs, danskos), shoes that I will always keep despite their usefulness (red velvet heels), and the rotating "fun pile". This is where I think my wedding shoes will fit in.

I already have a pair that I was planning to use for the ceremony. They are very similar to these:

Mine aren't quite as "silver", but they do have the braided details and ankle strap, which I think will go quite nicely with my dress. Of course, this is now, just under 3 months before my wedding. I guarantee I will change my mind at least 3 times before then.

See, I love to wear heels. I stand up straighter, feel sexier, and can almost reach Jerry's Face! He is 6'5", so you can see how this would be an advantage. I have danced the night away in heels many times, but I keep hearing, you will want to have flats, you want to be comfortable, etc.

Since my accent colors are mainly blue and pink, I was thinking of getting a different pair for the reception. I thought these would be fun:

The thing is, I am not totally sold. I mean if I wear heels for the wedding (which I really don't see changing) and flats at the reception, won't my dress be too long? If I decide to just wear heels, should I wear the ones I already have and like, or get a new pair? Does anyone have any better ideas?

Later Taters!

I never thought I would put so much thought into leaving my wedding. I mean it's about the ceremony! The reception! The food! The Music! But the past couple of days have found me deliberating over send off ideas. In talking to the photographer, Jerry and I decided that we do want to have a send off. This of course immediately got me thinking of how we should do it!

I wandered past the bubbles several times at the craft stores and even though they were 50% off, I just couldn't bring myself to buy them. I mean, all of the weddings I have been to with bubbles have great pictures. But as a guest, I want to yell and cheer and well, you can't cheer and blow bubbles at the same time....As for the other options, we all know that rice and birdseed have had a bad rap lately and those little candy things just don't do anything for me.

So after careful thought and consideration, we are going with, Ribbon wands!

Now, ours probably won't be personalized, but you get the idea. I am really excited about it and I think it will be a very happy, cheery way for people to celebrate our day! I'll let you know how I decide to make them and all that. But for now, I can say we made another decision. Yippee!
