Monday again...

I almost didn't make it out of bed this morning. Thankfully it's only a 4-day work week and then I have a 4-day weekend. However, I will be doing flowers for a wedding this weekend (yay!) so that will eat up some of the time. All I can say is, I am glad I slept so much this weekend. I think I am going to need it!

Regardless, it would be practically impossible to fall asleep at my desk because it is actually 1 degree in this building.

It starts...

They say fatigue is one of the top 5 symptoms of being pregnant in the 1st trimester and holy cow is that true. All I can say is I am glad you get a little break in the 2nd trimester before you ramp up for birth because my gosh I am exhausted! I sleep A LOT right now. Jerry has been so good about it and is taking great care of me so I really have it good. But at the same time, I will be glad to get some energy back. Case in point, last night I was supposed to go bowling with his family and after dinner I could barely hold my head up. He went without me and I went to bed at 9pm only to sleep for 10 hours, get up and eat breakfast and then go back to bed for over 2 more hours! I have just finished 2nd breakfast (hehe - this part is a perk) and now I want ANOTHER nap! It's insanity.

If 'they' are right, I should only have a few more weeks of this. I will say that I haven't been sick at all and for that I am incredibly thankful! You have to take the good with the bad. Overall, so far I am really loving being pregnant!

In other news, we picked 3 cucumbers today! Our garden is really thriving with the exception of some worm-eaten brussels sprout leaves...baby steps...Here are a few pics of the garden and it's splendor !

It's Official!

Jerry and I are having a baby! We are now notifying the internet of our bliss :-) We had our first appointment yesterday and heard the heartbeat. It was a crazy and awesome experience! So far I have been feeling great. Not too sick and mostly just exhausted all the time. SO if I fall asleep while you are right in the middle of a story, my apologies. They say it will get better in a few weeks.

Weeks! I will be 9 weeks tomorrow! Which means only one more month in the treacherous 1st trimester. Now that we are telling, I will be back in business here on ye olde bloge. Lots going on. Have a great day!

Our mini- vacation!

Last weekend, Jerry and I had a wonderful time at the beach! We rolled in on Friday night and went to dinner downtown. We ate at a Thai place and ordered Wonton soup to start. We decided to share a pot (not knowing exactly what that was) but it came in the coolest container! Basically, the soup was in a trough around the middle part and there was a flame inside that kept it warm! Too fun!

Saturday we slept in and then went to Dunkin Donuts for breakfast. On the way back we stopped at CVS, which I discovered is "Jerry's Target". This simply means that he is in absolute heaven at CVS. Who knew?? We picked up a few things and headed back to the campground where we enjoyed the wonderful pool and sunshine! AND I finally found something I can beat Jerry at!!! Swimming!!!! I had no idea and I am sure it wouldn't take long for him to best me if he really tried. But it was fun to win :-)

Later, we loaded up the bikes into the van and drove down to the beach and parked. Then we rode up and down the beach, people watching and taking pictures. It was great! We had yummy seafood on a Restaurant Pier and walked around watching the fishermen.

Saturday night we walked around a mall, had dinner and went to see Zohan, which was ridiculously, irreverently, and politically hilarious in case you were wondering. Points for the hummus humor!

We came home on Sunday feeling refreshed and ready to go! I highly recommend the mini-vacay to all :-) Have a great day!

Introducing......

Once upon a time I thought it would be fun to have a flower business. Well, little by little I have been chipping away at this idea. And the time is now! I give you, Birdsong Flowers! At first, it will be a part time business and after that, who knows?! I have a wedding in July and I could not be more excited about it! I can't wait to post pictures, but for now, you can check out my business blog for a few tasty treats.

We are working on a website and I have a LONG way to go, but I am just too excited about it to keep quiet! I'll keep you posted!

Long timey no bloggy - I still love you

Well, I've been informed that I have been on hiatus too long from this blog. Funny how it happens that way, right Martha and Ashley - whose blogs I have never seen??? Life comes at you fast, to quote that one commercial about something. So here it is, Thursday June 12th and I am blogging again. Whee! Here we go....

This weekend, Jerry and I are going to the coast. We are really looking forward to it and the only downside I can see at this point is the probability that we will both be inhaling smoke the whole time. No not that kind. But what can you do? All I can hope is that the fresh air coming off the water will help keep things clear. But hey, I'm no meteorologist.

We'll be staying at the local KOA which is great for a cheap weekend visit. The little kabins have a/c and wifi and you just have to bring your own linens and whatnot. We love staying there and it saves money - win win! While there we plan to just relax relax relax. And eat. Of course.

Oh yes and I must update you on the dining room! I opted to wait on repairing the table as I am lazy and with the fun chairs we bought from ikea, I really don't see the flaws that well. SO, we are using it until I get more motivation to spiff it up. Here is the current setup...Those curtains just aren't cutting it are they?? I am thinking bottom-up roman shades in white....ideas??

Yes it does bother me that the bowl of apples is off center. How did I miss that??? You should also know that I hate my floor. It NEVER looks clean. And it's discolored in places and the seller of the house decided it would be a great idea to drip paint everywhere and leave it. Sadly, this project is WAAAAAAY down the list, so for now I live with it. I've entertained the idea of adding a rug but it turns my stomach a little. I just can't be bothered with more updates to this area right now. Except for maybe those shades....yes.

Good Times

This weekend was busy and fun! We went to the Ben Folds concert and had a great time. He is so much fun to see live! Great energy. The opening act was a girl with a ukulele...it was disappointing but what can you do. Jerry sets the bar pretty high for the uke.

We went to dinner at Chick-Fil-A beforehand and I was astounded the sheer masses of 13 year old girls primping in the bathroom. It was their big night out I guess...I also realized that at T-52 days to my 30th birthday, I was actually more than twice their age. This was a little disconcerting, but I didn't let it ruin my night. Instead I relished in mocking their conversations I was eavesdropping on like any mature person would.

Saturday I hosted Jessica's baby shower! You can read all about it here ! We had a good time and fun in the sun and Jessica got lots of cutie presents! It was a great weekend and even though it's back to work now, I feel rested and ready to go!
